About me and my passion for cars
In high school my older brother drove a 1992 Firebird Trans Am GTA while I drove a crappy Nissan Pulsar. I had always wanted a Firebird too, since I loved the aggressive styling and performance. It also was rare in that it was one of the few GTAs with a cloth interior. He wasn't very car savvy so I would always change the oil and do regular maintenance on it for him. I told him I would own that car one day, to which he shrugged off as a joke (which it was at the time).
Shortly after I graduated and left for college the transmission went out in the Firebird and would not shift out of 1st gear. Instead of repairing it he decided to simply buy a new car, so he bought a Grand Am and parked the Trans Am. It sat there for a number of years, only being started occasionally. The body (namely the unique spoiler) was damaged during a few of the hurricanes that came by, but the worst of the damage was from the clear coat separating from the paint, causing a few small rust spots and ruining the color of the car.
After I graduated and started work I saved up the money to repair the transmission, cleaned the car up, replaced a few parts, and put the car back on the road. Shortly after that he signed the title over to me. My dream car was finally mine! Ever since I've been slowly putting the car back together and have also given it a new coat of paint. It now has 220,000 miles on the original engine with no major problems, and is still powerful enough to leave our 2009 G6 in the dust. Here's to many more years and miles!

First car show
May 9, 2010
So I went to my first open car show since getting the bird painted. It was a small event in my hometown so I didn't feel terribly pressured. There was another third gen there so I didn't feel so bad. Its odd seeing my car lined up with cars 20 to 30 year...
