About me and my passion for planes
I started flying in my teens like a lot of us did. I bought my first plane a T-6 Texan for $1200 dollars before I bought a car. Dad's permission of course. After seeing the plane the first time and starting it up for him I know he had second thoughts. It was cool and a hand full but I did not keep it long due to the fuel costs even at 25 cents a gallon. I was a teenager then. Not long after I did my jet flying with the Air Force during the Vietnam years. This was in Charlie 141 alpha cargo plans which I don't believe it ever got the credit they deserved. All and all it was a very interesting flying career. When military duties where over I went back to the simple basic airplane to enjoy flying again.
I rebuilt several but my favorite was the 46 Luscombe. It was a basic stick and rudder with no electric (hand proping) and 65hp powerplant. Had a great time with that plane with my other pilot friends always in contest such as toilet paper cutting, flour bag precesion bombing, dog fights, cow chasing and so on. I don't own any planes these days but I will add a couple of pic's in my profile. Enjoy
