April 1st Update
Apr 1, 2008
Well, we missed the World of Wheels show, which was a bit of a bummer - but it wasn't for lack of effort! There was just too much work to be done, especially with all the little trim pieces that needed to be cleaned and painted. As I said at the Rebels meeting last week, though - the car WILL be worth the wait! As it stands right now, the engine compartment and driveline is completed. The interior parts are around 95% ready to go, and the dash has been switched out for a new one (the old had been broken in an apparent stereo theft). The new stereo and speakers are wired and ready to go, and Larry donated a power antenna - which we also have wired and ready to go. The body work is pretty much finished - just a few adjustments here and there as the body goes back together - and more panels every day have paint on them. Currently, the only major body pieces not on the car are the front and rear bumpers - which are both painted. We'll get those on tonight, and then the sides of the car will be painted. The bottom line is, we're still looking good to get the car painted by the Lincoln Stars hockey game on Saturday. More updates to follow. Check out the photo album as well - I just through a whole bunch of current pics in of the whole operation. Just a side note - I looked on my calendar, and we pulled the motor on November 4th - which means we've done almost all of the restoration/customizing in almost right at 5 months. Wow!
