Update
Jun 4, 2007
I wanted to take some time to give you all an update of progress, fundraising, etc.
First of all, this last weekend I participated in the first of two Relay for Life events that I'm involved with this year. It was also my first event that I have participated in as a survivor. I had a really good time and I believe it was a successful event. I'm looking forward to the next relay in July. This event I have registered for a team (Seeds of Hope) so I will be participating both as a team member and a survivor.
As far as fundraising goes, all I can say is that I'm touched by the generosity of people. At first, I thought that if I could raise $250, I'd be happy. Then when I surpassed $500 in donations, I thought that maybe I could make it to $750. Well, my current fundraising amount is $825 and I have again changed my goal. Now I hope to raise $1000 for the American Cancer Society. I am truely touched by the sincere generosity of everyone who has contributed. Thank you all. If you are interested in donating, please visit my page on the American Cancer Society's website: Sam's Donation Page
My treatments continue steadily and surely. I get worn out very easily still and generally ache all over. However, my body still seems to be doing well enough with the treatments so that I can continue the treatments on schedule and on dose. I have only 5 more months of treatment. I'm over 1/2 way done. The light is still small, but there's one at the end of the tunnel I'm in.
Thank you all for your support, both financially and emotionally. It is all greatly appreciated.
