About Group
The Nifty Fifties Ford Club was formed in 1987. The purpose of the club is for the enjoyment and preservation of all 1949-1959 Ford Motor Company automobiles. Ownership of a 1949 thru 1959 Ford Motor Comany automobile is not mandatory for club membership, and we do have members who have cars of other makes and from other eras. The club currently has approximately 60 members throughout the State of Nebraska. Membership dues are $20.00 and cover the calendar year January thru December.
We meet on a monthly basis during a planned activity at various locations and sometimes in members' homes. If a meeting is held in a members home it may specified as "adults only" depending on the wishes of the member hosting the meeting.
Activities we have had are: New Officers Installation dinner in January, soup suppers, picnics, cruises, parades, car shows, vacation trips, and theme parties (50's party, Holloween party, and Christmas party). We volunteer at the Rocky Manginelli Memorial Swap Meet in Lincoln every March. We have donated food to the Lincoln Food Bank, and money to needy families and various charities.
A montly newsletter is published and sent to each member. It informs members of upcoming evets, has minutes of any meetings held durin g the past month, reports on car show in which members have participated, lists birthdays and anniversaries we are aware of, has a car/parts swap and show section, sometimes features special articles submitted by members, and one in a while a good recipe for a member.
Membership Requirements: Any person having reached the age of sixteen (16) shall be eligable for membership, provided that such person shall be sponsored by two seperate active members of the club (cannot be husband and wife). An application for active membership shall be sent to the Treasurer, who shall report it, together with the names of the sponsors, at the next regular meeting of the club. Payment of annual dus shall be required prior to approval of the membership. All members will recieve a copy of the bylaws and information sheet about the club.
