About johnegun’s Garage
About me and my passion for cars
Started model building at 6 from cerial box tops send in offers. Rember building a tank out of carboard boxes, a orange road barrier tube (barrel for the turret), Our little red wagon was the the base and lots of duct tape. Dad had to start locking up his tool box because I often use to disassemble Christmas toys about 4 day after to see how they work or what made them go. First auto repair was on my Dad's 67 Caddie, starter went out at his work. So after school he took me back to his work and had me craw under and install a new one ( didn't even jack the car). Started welding in Jr. high --made motorcross or BMX bikes before they were even marketed. Built forts and treehouses untill my Dad let me make over the garage. Install lights, drop cord, air lines, rebuilt the workbench and painted everything. ( my new hang out) I wasn't a electrician at 13 so I wired everthing with Black cord. Must have done a good job on all the things I've work on because my other two brother did cleaning and yard duty and I got to do veichle maintenance and home repair. The only thing that I never had a passion for was scrapeing undercoat off the bottom of cars(once was enough).
My first car
1969 Dodge Coronet --The Burnt Orange has the entire drive train from my first car from high school. I had a bad habit of driving on the left side every time it was open
Car I wish I still had
1965 El Camino--2 (69) dodges, 1 1980 GMC Stepside and a CB900f Honda Super Sport and living in a Apt.. So I gave away the Elco--Got it for free anyway
My dream car
that is a dream still--My favorite Martian (spaceship) for those of you to young it would be the Jetson's car
