About maacodale’s Garage
About me and my passion for cars
I've been a car guy since I can remember. Always worked in the auto industry. Started at a VW/Mazda/Porsche-Audi/BMW dealership. Did everything there except sales and bodyshop. Ironically, next job was at a Maaco Auto Painting center. Bought the center in Hampton, VA in 1992 after 18 years of of working there.
Always in some form of car club, usually racing related. Currently have a 1977 1/2 Z28 that is pretty much an autocross only car. Mostly original with only 113,000 miles on it's 30 year old odometer. I've won several regional championships autocrossing with the SCCA as well as being named Autocrosser of the year for the Old Dominion Region 4 times. I have also been the Autocross Chairman for SCCA-ODR from 1986 to 1999. Currently I'm organizing Autocross events at Langley Speedway for NASA-MA.
Also raced Legend cars from 2001 to 2007 at Langley Speedway in Hampton, VA for Cook's Motorsports. Health issues forced my withdrawal for the 2008 season. But I'll still be a crew member for the Cook's team.
Additionally, I'm an assistant web master for The Enthusiast Network (TEN) which owns 16 different enthusiast websites, mostly aimed at the Truck Enthusiasts. My favorites are www.jeeperz.com and www.fordtruckworld.com come check us out!
