A modified Heidts Super Ride II from a ‘55-59 Chevy pickup, mated with 2-inch dropped spindles and polished stainless control arms, provides the structure for the forward underpinnings. Doug channeled the X-member 1-inch up into the car. The control arms were narrowed 5/8-inch and cross gussets and forward strut rods provide extra support. A Flaming River Mustang II rack-and-pinion, Air Ride Technologies Shock Waves and Baer brakes make up the contemporary, leading edge underpinnings.
