Pavement-Stomping Muscle Cars Tearing it up in Tennessee
The weekend of May 20-22 marked the 6th annual Goodguys Rod & Custom Association Nashville Nationals. Held at LP Field inside the Tennessee Titan stadium, more than 1,500 muscle cars, classic trucks and hot rods filled the grounds for some impressive eye candy. Once upon a time muscle cars were about putting the largest torque-wrenching motor inside of a small or midsized car–style and comfort be damned! Power was everything. Chances are that car didn’t have all of the niceties that we now take for granted. But not anymore, the total package is what many desire from their muscle cars, including power, style, handling and comfort. It was the morning of Dec. 7, and all through Yorba Linda, California, many hot rods and muscle cars were stirring and roaring aloud. Exhaust notes pierced the air and tires screeched as participants made their way to the annual John Force Holiday Car Show sponsored by System One and held at the amazing headquarters of John Force Racing. The event’s purpose was as a benefit toy drive for California Highway Patrol’s CHIPs for Kids. Admission was an unwrapped toy to provide Christmas presents for those less fortunate. (more…)
