It was the morning of Dec. 7, and all through Yorba Linda, California, many hot rods and muscle cars were stirring and roaring aloud. Exhaust notes pierced the air and tires screeched as participants made their way to the annual John Force Holiday Car Show sponsored by System One and held at the amazing headquarters of John Force Racing. The event’s purpose was as a benefit toy drive for California Highway Patrol’s CHIPs for Kids. Admission was an unwrapped toy to provide Christmas presents for those less fortunate. (more…)

Normally, an Impala flat on the ground conjures up visions of hydraulics and wire wheels. But more and more mid-‘60s Impalas are being customized to combine the best of muscle power and luxury. The suspension featured on the 1965 Impala SS can also be found on many other GM cars of the era, and sports a coil spring setup with control arms up front and trailing arms and a panhard bar in the back.
