About me and my passion for cars
loved cars since i was a kid, my dad's mate had a ford Anglia 105E, and I always wanted one. my uncle Tommy always had great cars, a mk1 cortina, a mk2 cortina, and a mk2 Escort stick in my mind.
my best mates dad had a string of cortinas and a couple of zephyrs.
it all helped shape the kind of stuff I'm into. my dad only got his first car when i was 17, boy did i give that some abuse! a hillman avenger, i think you guys called them cricketts, and dad put me on his insurance! fool!
i'm not in a position too spend mega money on cars so i just do the best i can with old cars that would otherwise be dead now, but i have fun and thats what counts. my present car is a 1980 Mazda 929 estate (wagon) that i bought 2 years ago, drove it for 6 months until it died, left it in a field with every intention of revivng her at a later date.
late last year we dragged her out of said field and stuffed a Ford 2.8 V6 and auto onto her and she's been my daily hack since may of this year. bloody reliable and ****loads of fun.
planning a repaint this winter and then a smallblock chevy at the end of 2008, she deserves it.
My first car
a 1966 vauxhall viva SL. 1159cc of pure muscle. great round corners though. this was in 1979, i bought another one last year off ebay but it just didn't do it for me.sold it to a guy who was gonna plop a pontiac V8 in it, hope he did!
Car I wish I still had
my roof chopped morris minor. had bucket loads of fun with that one, all on a tight budget.
My dream car
dunno, too many to decide
Car clubs I’m in
