About me and my passion for cars
I am a Registered Nurse by trade with 29 years nursing experience and I grew up around cars. My father painted cars for a living at a local Ford Dealership and had a shop in our yard at home where he remodeled many cars for my brothers friends. He did a 57 Chevrolet for my brother and we stripped it to the bare metal with a product called Kleen Strip and we redone the car from the ground up and it was beautiful ! In 1967 when i was a small child my father gave me and my brother wired remote control cars that were Mustangs and they were Orange in color and we played and played with them. I always wanted to own a Mustang and in 1999 I bought an Electric Green 35th Aniversary V-6 Mustang Coupe and when it was paid for I bought a 2004 Competition Orange Mustang GT (V-8) with black leather interior, 40th Aniversary Edition and i drive it daily and my teenage daughter drives the 1999 Mustang.
I have been in the Medical Adult Day Care business for the past 11 years and have taught many support group classes for Alzheimer's families and got to thinking that a Car Show would be a good way to raise money for Alzheimer's Research and I said Mustangs and Memories what a perfect name, because when you think of a Mustang you definitely think of Memories and when families who care for someone with Alzheimers they can look back on their good memories of their loved one. Mustangs and Memories and Other Classics Car Show is a passion of mine and hopefully this show will grow to be one of the biggest in the SouthEast !!!
