Club vs. Club Bowling in South Florida
At most truck shows clubs tend to gather by themselves, parked in large groups with EZ-Ups stationed behind their trucks almost like a barrier, warding off outsiders. You can check out the trucks, but don’t get too close. In an effort to bring Florida clubs and local chapters together, Seth “Sandler” Greenberg of Boca Raton used the lull in the show season to put together an event that would bring clubs and friends together for some good old-fashioned fun at the bowling alley. Draggin’ the Alley, now in its second year, offers a club vs. club bowling tournament at Strikes Bowling Alley, as well as a small show outside. There was also an after party at the local Hooters to finish off the day. Watching truck guys attempt to bowl was as much fun as actually bowling in the competition. Of course, some were in it to win it, but most were just there to have fun. Some even sported proper bowling attire, complete with custom shirts and argyle socks.
A few of the clubs that tackled the lanes this year and attempted to score a perfect 300-point game (all scores combined, of course) included No Regrets, Relaxed Atmosphere, Negative Camber, Aftermath, Freaks of Nature, Xtreme Lowz and others. The winning club this year was Xtreme Lowz. They racked up the most points in three games, took home the award, and will have their club name added to the tournament trophy.
At the small truck show held outside of the bowling lanes, Brent Marks (whose Ford Lightning SVT is featured in this very issue) took home the first place award!
