Trucks and Muscle Cars Battle It Out at Adams Motorsports Park
In today’s world of high-performance trucks it’s not enough to go fast in a straight line. To hang with the big boys you need to be able to hammer through the hairpins and carve the corners. Several suspension and brake companies have tuned their products toward that effort. There is simply nothing like pounding on the skinny pedal and shaking your fist at the shifter as you throttle your way through a curvy asphalt playground. (more…)
There are certain time-honored traditions in the world of classic pickups, and the annual F-100 Western Nationals hosted by the Orange County chapter of Pickups Limited is one of them. Every year this dedicated group of classic Ford truck gearheads assembles in June at the Canyon RV Park more commonly referred to as “Featherly” to enjoy a day of paint, chrome and horsepower all centered on classic Ford pickups and the dedicated enthusiasts who enjoy them. June 26 marked the 28th annual F-100 Western Nationals and more than 200 trucks rolled on to the grounds at the Canyon RV Park to enjoy a day of old Ford beauty. (more…)
The longest running show in the Northwest was back again and bigger than ever before. The kickback pace and the perfect weather is a welcome vacation from the hot and humid shows elsewhere during the summertime. The hospitality shown by the folks from Sittin’ Pretti car club is immense and is passed on to those attending the show, ensuring that everyone has a great and memorable experience at the event each year. Railin’ at the RiverThere are certain time-honored traditions in the custom truck scene and West Coast Nationals, hosted by Bob Hase and the crew from Sunset, is one of them. Picture three fun-filled days of badass mini and full size trucks cruising through La Paz County Park, which is planted firmly on the banks of the Colorado River. A full throttle custom truck party descends every year on La Paz with thousands of truck guys and gals displaying their rides for top honors and a few door-dragging bragging rights. (more…)

Mooneyes specializes in vintage speed and style parts for all sorts of hot rods, bed equipped or not. To celebrate the company’s long history with performance, style and grassroots hot rodding, every year Chico and the crew from Mooneyes hold a shindig to bring together everything from trucks, hot rods, customs, vintage drag cars and the culture that goes right along with it all. If you live in a border town, such as McAllen, Texas, a mix of customs and heritages will blend together. For the second time, Rafael “Rafa” Soto put on Border Bash, which attracted custom trucks and lowriders alike. Rafa not only throws this show for fun and to encourage the truck scene in the RGV, but for charity as well. He is a cancer survivor and is using his second chance in life not only to spend the time with his family, but also to give back. The show has raised over $10,000 for a local children’s cancer clinic, Vannie E. Cook Jr. Over 400 vehicles came from all over Texas and even Mexico to the event that featured not only the hottest trucks that the Lone Star State has to offer, but also a large variety of the best Mexican food around, including tamales, carnitas, carne asada, and the always delicious elotes.
If there were a recipe for a utopian car show, some of the ingredients would include tons of girls, great food, friends, casino gambling, and entertainment aside from the custom cars and trucks. SEMA in Las Vegas comes to mind as a show that combines all of those elements, but what if you threw the ocean and sandy beaches into the mix as well?
