Adding Some Style With BASF, L&G Enterprises and Stylin’ Trucks

We are wrapping up the custom paint and graphics on Project Greystone over at L&G Enterprises in San Dimas, California. The crew cab has undergone a subtle two-tone paint scheme with custom graphics laid out and sprayed by Theresa Contreras. We have BASF R-M Onyx HD waterborne materials for everything from the primer to the Lexus Smoky Granite Mica and Greystone Metallic paint to the clearcoat. The VOC-compliant paint system from BASF keeps us out of trouble with the EPA while still maintaining a great finish with all of the benefits of traditional solvent-based systems. After the truck was baked, color sanded and buffed to a perfect shine, the reassembly process began.

All of the factory rubber weather-stripping was reinstalled, but that is where the stock aspect of the reassembly ended. We looked to Stylin’ Trucks to add some style with some dress up accessories. The Silverado was outfitted with a custom-painted front bumper cover from Street Scene EQ. The gen one cover offers a clean SS-style look at a fraction of the cost. The grille shell was painted to match with some custom details to set it apart. Out back, RECON smoked LED taillights and third brake light were installed for a stealth, smoked look with the power of LEDs. The headlights were lightly smoked to match the paint scheme. Finally, rather than install a roll pan, the factory chrome rear bumper was pulled, sandblasted and painted to match the truck using BASF R-M Onyx HD waterborne paint. Finishing off the color matching is a set of Suburban door handles courtesy of Lee Phong. The Suburban door handles come color matched from the dealer and are a cheaper alternative to Escalade door handles.

This finishes off the paint portion of Project Greystone, but we are by no means done with the project. Stay tuned for a set of custom seat covers from Pecca Leather, wheels from Verde Custom Wheels and some audio tricks thanks to Pioneer Electronics and Extreme Audio & Kustoms.
