Turning a Crew Cab Long Bed C-10 into a Short Bed

It’s considered by some to be the holy grail of trucks, the crew cab short bed. For years the big car companies only produced crew cab long beds, leaving it up to custom builders to make one of their own. Todd Burton, owner of Lowboy Motorsports, has always wanted a crew cab short bed, and recently, he was presented with the opportunity to do just that. In exchange for some work, he got a ’91 Chevrolet 3/4-ton crew cab long bed truck that needed a little bit of work. He saw his opportunity and decided to go for it.

Originally, the thought was that this process was extensive, and that it would take several days to complete. Todd quickly learned, though, that with some practice, he could do the job in just a few hours, making this an affordable process for his customers. Soon he had turned quite a few long beds into shorties, and now he offers it as a standard service, which can be done in a weekend. Follow along as Todd and his crew tear into this ‘91 Chevrolet square body and take a few inches off the back.
