1957 BMW Isetta 300
“Izzy”
Last Updated: Jun 17, 2008
About
Well here is our new to us BMW 1957 Isetta 300. Thats 300 CC of raw Air Cool Power purring behind those Air intakes. One of those cars that when you drive into a Cruise night. Everyone looks over and says "What the hell is that!." This is the car that saved BMW from extinction after the war. Designed by a refrigerator manufacturer in Italy. This is a 4 wheel German made Isetta. There are 3 wheel ones that were mostly in England.
Specs
Engine 300cc 13HP. 4 speed left hand shifter. Overall length a little over 89 inches about 7 1/2 ft. Width 54 Inches about 4 1/2 ft. 10" tires. Approx 63 mpg. That will give about 220 miles on a 3.5 gal fill up. Weight of 770 lbs.
Especially fun at the DMV. Just try registering a car with the description of One Door, One Cyl, 2 seat. 770lb. car. They just don't stop laughing at you.
