UPDATE: Started the painting, haven't done this in thirty years so am in a relearning process. practiced on an old spare hood I had laying around and finally got the paint to lay down without runs, overspray is another matter. put down the yellow and orange and will tape off the flames before putting on the final forest green. this may end up being a practice job, but I am having fun.

I was looking for a transmission for my 87 Suburban when this one popped up on Craigslist for $500. It had a blown engine, so I thought it would be perfect to get my Transmission. When I went to look at it, big disappointment no 700r4, but there was the three-speed with a granny gear, a practically brand new set of tires and shredded vinyl bench seats. Very ugly and didn't look that promising. I don't know why, but I had to have it. I brought it home and kept looking for my transmission. Then the price of gas started going up and up, all of a sudden there was lots of Suburbans for sale. I bought another one with bad steering and mice infestation, but it had both a good engine and transmission and the price was almost nothing, the guy wanted it gone. So now that all the parts switching is over, I have two good running Suburbans but they are still ugly. So I have set out to fix that, this is just the beginning.
