About
My 1st Car... Bought it when I was 15 for 1100 i belive...
Needed a transmission when i bought it but i liked the bodystyle. Had trans rebuilt and drove her... one day no more than 6-9months after buying the car i was on my way to work when the temp. light pops on, befor I could even get her stopped she died. A few days later after investagating the problem we realized the thermostat had stuck, causing her to overheat, blow the head gaskets, and crack the head. So I took her to my uncle where we soon realized this 3.8L V6 was in pretty sad condition, and that we could swap in a "mild" sb chevy just as cheap as we could rebuild the tired old v6. This is the results...
Specs
350turbo trans(rebuilt 3times)
350ci SB Chevy(estimated 350-400ish HP)
0-60? well it never made it to the track, did try to time it a time or two but i dont recall... I can say it would sit u back in the seat all the way up to around 80mph...
top speed... like i said never made it to the track and the local cops would not clock me open end, I tryed... I will say that at about 4500rpms in 3rd she would start to "float" down the road, at 5000rpm everything is a blur in the side windows and you couldnt hold her in your lane...
Factory Options
Power seat/windows/locks, cruise, all the usuall stuff
It was a Limited edition Regal
Mods
Aside from the aftermarket JVC CD Player, PPI Amp, and two
12" rockford fosgates... Engine i bought a shortblock from one of my uncles buddys for 500bucks! what a deal...
350ci sb bored .40over (made 355ci i belive.. or is that .30over?)
Block/crank was ballanced and blueprinted, with TRW flatop pistons. The cam noone was sure on the size for my uncles buddy had got the engine on a trade, but it lopped very hard...
Someone had built this block for the drap strip i belive, cause it had a high pressure/high volume oilpump that held nearly 100lb oilpressure at idle... Topend was stock 350heads reworked with oversized valves(later installed 305 heads for more compression), eldelbrock RPM performer highrise aluminum intake, and eldelbrock 600cfm carb(originally had a Holly650cfm, but i got tired of tunning it). Hedman headders with 3'' pipe and dual flowmasters, one wire altenator, electric fan, four core radiator, all the usuall streetrod equipment...
