About

Bought new in 1986 this car was my daily driver for years. The first round of mods came in 1992 and then I was heavy into street racing in the Fresno area. my best time with the car was run at Bakerfield, with a peg leg rear and MT slicks, 12:35@112mph. I then semi retired the car after it was stolen from my jobs parking lot one night. The car was recovered in decent shape, stereo gone and the dash and column damaged but otherwise intact. After I moved back to NY from California, I started reconditioning the car. This time the thought was to utilize the natural lines and colors of the Monte and just expand that into a Pro-Touring car trying to balance form and function into a pleasing combination that would be both fun to drive and great to look at. The suspension mods done to the car enable it to handle like a slot car, the brakes will stop it on a dime from any speed and it still runs great.
Currently in the works is a 500 +hp 427 SBC, 6 speed tranny and new 12 bolt rear end. These should go in this winter.
Hopefully this Monte is as pleasing for you to see as it is for me to own, if so then I have accomplished my dream and can ask for no greater compliment.
Thanks for looking!
