My Cobra is a factory-built/"turnkey minus" 289FIA roadster assembled at the Unique Motorcars factory in Gadsden, Alabama in 2005 by the owners of Unique Motorcars, Alan and Maurice Weaver. Unique is one of the oldest-operating companies dedicated to the manufacture of premium 427 and 289FIA Cobra replicas since 1977. The drivetrain consists of a Ford Racing 302 crate motor outputting approximately 370 bhp, a Ford toploader 4-speed gearbox and a Jaguar IRS. The drivetrain was painstakingly prepared and installed by Rick Bagley of Shepherdsville, Kentucky. Rick's craftsmanship is terrific. The engine has been characterized as a piece of fine jewelry. Only the finest hardware componentry was used throughout. |
