About
I am known in the F-Body community as the T-top conversion guru. I converted this Z28 from hard top to t-top in a weekend. I purchased this car knowing full well that it would be converted. The price was right and couldn't pass it up. Modifications came quickly. I started the personalization of the car by purchasing polished aluminum 17 inch Corvette Z06 rims. Then came the cam swap. I decided to keep it mild, slightly better than stock with the intention of re doing the motor within a few years. Next came the T-top conversion. I purchase the kit of ebay. As luck would have it, I was only the 2nd person to view the auction as the seller titled it strange. The kit was bought and delivered for $150. I then bought a custom made headliner which is constructed of ABS and foam wrapped followed by o.e.m. headliner material. I then moved on to purchase a Magnaflow cat back exhaust. The next mod was really not required but decided to do it anyway. I had the body completely torn down and repainted in the factory Red paint. Everyone said that it looked great with the factory paint job, but I knew where the imperfections were. I also didn't like the fact that the factory paint had "orange peel". There is not any after the new paint and in fact looks like a mirror. While the car was getting painted I had them delete the side moldings and badges. I also had them do the "Berger Panel" as I like the Black rear panel look. I did it different as it is gloss instead of the traditional flat. I liked the smoothness of the body but decided to order solid nickel badges mimicking the Z06 Corvette style but say Z28. I felt it tied the rims into the car. At this point I redid the entire rear suspension in the car and replaced the LCA's, Panhard and added SFC's. These were all powder coated red to match the car and purchased from UMI Performance. I then installed a stage 4, 4L60E transmission with a shift kit and 3000 rpm stall. This really woke the car up. (See my journal for new updates)This is how the car stands right now. Be sure to have a look at my pictures, there are a lot. Also check out the N.I.F.B.A section. I am the President of this car club with a membership of 173. Enjoy.

Over the winter I completed a lot on the car. Original plan was to drop a new motor in. Plans changed for this year so I ended up doing the top end and a custom ground cam. I spec'd out the cam to my own specs. I also installed coated longtubes and deleted...
