I'm a 3rd generation VW enthusiast (I can be seen in the VW Trends May '87 Bug-In coverage) but it's been 12 years since I've owned one. The bug (no pun intended) bit me again recently so I set out looking for a project and came across this (purchased 3/13/09 - Friday the 13th... maybe I should name it Voorhees, or JV, or something ). It's a fatty, but at least it's something to wrench on.

For now I'd like to get it running reliably to share duties as a daily driver, then take it from there.
