- AWESOME CAR!!! I fell into a Gold one that I bought for $2300.00 back in 1986. The guy just put it out 15 minute before I bought it. I thought the same that it was a steal. Like I said, it was Gold, had the 6.6 olds 403, black, I don't know, velour interior, no T-Tops. Still had the stainless exhaust tips. This car was MINT. The guy I bought it from must have weigh like 500lbs, so he was selling it because he couldn't fit in it anymore. LOL!!
Well, living the apartment life, someone broke into it and stole my stereo, equalizer, etc. Damaged the dash and dome light. Stole the louves I had on the back window, even took the trim?!?! I almost cried. But I fixed it. Then about 4 months later, I just got home from work (2nd shift) and I went into my bedroom when I heard this horn blowing. I looked out the balcony, and here was my car half in the alley, running, The thieves broke the steering column to start it, when they did, a hot wire from the horn fused itself to something metal causing the horn to blow. They took off running.
Well, I fixed that too. And afte all this, I went thru a divorce, and damn-it, my ex got the car!
Oh well, I had alot of fun with that car, alot of speeding tickets, and aloty of looks. I wish I still had it.
Sorry about the lengthy story. But seeing your beauty really makes me miss mine!
If your brother doesn't want to take care of you and your car when your cremated, concider me! LOL!!!

I have had this car since 1990 and I am still as much in love with it now as I was then LOL I found it by accident, had blown up my 79 Camaro and was looking for anything, was in need of a car. I happened to see an ad in the local paper, called, and it was a young kid who didnt think it was "cool" enough anymore, what a dumb as*!! So I flew over there, I didnt even want to test drive it once I saw the car. On the phone, his mom wasnt even sure what it was, just a 79 pontiac firebird , nothing special she said. They just wanted to get rid of the car... well I saw it and knew I was going to buy it.. and I drove it home that afternoon. I paid $2200 for her... I think a steal. I will never sell her and when I am gone, my brother will take care of the car for me. I told him I want to be cremated and hung on the rearview mirror like in Joe Dirt LOL We will see I suppose!! For now I am enjoying the car every day... :-)
Specs
She has a 403 Olds... .. and the motor was rebuilt with a new block about 5 years ago now.. basically stock... I had a b/f at the time, who borrowed it, over heated her and didnt stop, so he cracked the block... so needless to say, hes gone, and I have a new block and the car and I are happy!!
