1968 Morris Mini Minor
“henley”
Last Updated: Feb 2, 2008
About
This fine example of an original Morris Mini Minor (MkII) was sourced up by Peter Cavallo (West PA Minis) in the UK, then brought into the states through Dan Stoughton of the now disbanded Operation Minis, an organization formed to find classic British cars that would otherwise be scrapped, and lovingly restore them. I don't yet have a name for the car, but I bought it on a whim not long after selling Guinness (aka BamBam), after receiving a tasty bonus check from Adobe Systems, where I worked last year. I have the complete history of the car.
Specs
This Mini has a 998cc engine, external hinges, sliding windows, cable door latches, 3 pod binnacle (Smiths) gauges, dry suspension, vinyl seats, and I think the color was Speedwell blue before it was recently painted what looks to be a Sunbeam color, Mediterranean blue? No, actually it looks more like Henley Blue, so I am naming the car "Henley" after that :)
Factory Options
There is a period sports steering wheel, though the center boss is gone, it has some deluxe trim options, vented 10" Cooper S metal wheels with hubcaps.
Mods
Since I bought her, I've installed Cooper S disc brakes in the front, a 123 distributor, lucas sports coil, Mini Spares 2-core radiator, new starter, K&N filter, chome-plated dual air horns ;) poly bushings, adjustable lower control arms, sracer adjustable rear camber plates, sracer adjustable dogbone, GAZ shocks in front, KAD shocks in back (I think..)
