About

This is my 1979 Thunderbird T-roof. I have had it for several years. I bought it at an auction years ago for a $100.00 bid, plus a $35.00 buyer fee. It has gotten about 35K miles on it since I bought it. The only repairs I've had to do are new brakes, tires, exhaust, and a new rear main seal in the engine. Plans for this Spring include a new vinyl top and new carpet.

This is a fairly rare car. The T-roofs were not actually produced by the Ford company, they were outsourced to another company called "Cars & Concepts." This option was available from 1977 to 1979.

Engine is a 351M, fitted to a C6 automatic trans.

The name "Melva" came from my friends and family teasing me about her being an "old lady" car, so I picked the first "old lady" name that came to mind..... Melva it was, and is still.

This is a love it or hate it car. I've seen opinions range from "WOW! That is one cool car!" to "Freak! Get that thing off the road." I happen to love it, and I can't imagine ever parting with it.
