About

Bought this car in the summer of 2007 intending to use as a daily driver. My friend and I made a 10-hour trip down to southern Ohio to pick it up. Got it back home to find the trans was completely trashed. Paid $$$ to get it rebuilt and back on the road in time for work.

Drove daily for about a month, then spun a main bearing driving home one day. Paid more money to get the engine rebuilt so I could get back to work.

Took it to a body shop to get the body rust removed before winter. Long story short, there are a lot of shady body guys out there. Ended up paying more money to get a different shop to do legit work. Good news is that almost the entire car ended up getting repainted, and the new paint is much nicer than the amateur orange peel crap that was on it.

Well now I've put too much money in the car already to let it get beat up in the snow...so it sat in the garage all winter. Now that the weather is nice again I'm going to finish restoring it myself.

Last year I replaced the carburetor, hood (2" steel cowl now), TC lockup control, starter motor, blower motor, and battery.

This summer I am finishing the body work (rusty floorpans/trunk/wheelwells), rust bullet coating, and overhauling the interior (new carpet/seats/headliner/radio etc.)

Edit: Well the project is now basically a frame-on restoration...one thing always leads to another, lol.
