Well... After 30 years of obsessing over a car, here it is. I finally own my dream car!! A 1978 Pontiac Trans Am. The moment I saw "Blocker", that black T/A shoot out of Snowman's Semi-truck trailer on "Smokey and the Bandit", I knew that someday I would have one of my own. After several failed attempts to raise the money (paper routes, lawn mowing jobs, etc... this 10 year old boy (at the time) gave up.

Now, 30 years later, my dream has come true! My "Mid life crisis" came along... and did it hit hard! I sold my 1999 Dodge Ram 3/4 ton diesel 4x4 that I thought I would keep until the axles fell off, to raise the money for the car and the restoration. Searching on the internet one day, I came across
the "Trans Am Specialties" website owned by Rick Deiters in Miami Florida. After what must have been a 2 hour phone call, I new he was the guy I wanted to restore my dream car. Rick found me a car up in New York, just what I wanted. A 1978 Trans am 4-speed with a W-72 engine. I purchased the car and had it shipped down to Miami for the restoration. The guys at "Trans Am Specialties have been working feverishly on the car for the last 6 months. Completion date should be sometime in March! I am waiting with baited breath for every updated picture that he sends me of the car! Rick is a great guy to work with and he shares my enthusiasm and excitement about the car! He is a Firebird Nut!!! I can't wait until my "Bird" is nestled comfortably in it's nest in my garage!!
