Lake Mirror Classic

By zzz_up

Saturday, October 15

The 2011 Lake Mirror Classic Auto Festival is now history. We enjoyed a wonderful weekend with over 600 show vehicles and 35,000 spectators. I had my 240z in the Sportscar catagory of the Downtown auto festival and was given a Sponcers Choice Ribbon. I was shocked and impressed because there were a blocks and blocks of beautiful cars.

Concours d’Elegance
The featured event of the Lake Mirror Classic is Saturday’s Concours d’Elegance. Featuring a selection of 125 cars, the Concours d’Elegance is the judged portion of the show and is presented along the Lake Mirror Park Promenade.

The Downtown Auto Festival
Hundreds of classic and collectible vehicles including Street Rods & Custom cars will be displayed on the streets of downtown Lakeland on Saturday. The cars are assembled in groups of similar makes and models in a 14-block area of downtown. Although the event is not judged, ribbons and prizes are presented to vehicles selected as sponsor favorites.

Classic Motorcycles, Wooden Boats & Amphicars
Classic Motorcycles are displayed at the Lake Mirror Amphitheater. Vintage Wooden Boats and Amphicars are shown in the water and along the northeast shore of Lake Mirror.

Labor Day Car Show

By zzz_up

I met some friends in Lakeland yesterday for the 10th annual Labor Day Car Show. There were in my estimate over 300 cars. The Nazarine church has been hosting this show for ten years, they serve a fantastic lunch free to anybody that brings a car. The best part is you can eat inside in ac and watch movies like "Cars". I will post pic soon.
