bought this bike used and less than a year old...
previous owner sold it because his wife said the bike was "not comfortable"!!
hey, its a sportster!
fast, fun and not meant to be comfortable- especially on the back.
i wanted to customize it but wanted to keep the total cost down- so a bike that was less than a year old was perfect for me.
1200 with arlen ness air cleaner (pretty much like no air cleaner at all- this baby breathes free); vance & hines pipes (also not much restriction here); and the key to the power is tuning it properly- that is done by computerized controller on the fuel injectors... can adjust this thing however i want (this mod is thanks to lawndale cycle- thanks mike!)-
kinda miss the pop-pop-pop decel of an overly lean (and much better fuel economy) bike, but the smooth incredible power of the richer tuning is worth it. and hey, if i want that pop pop back, i can always detune it!
1200- jeez, options on a harley?
bought it used so just about everything on the bike is optioned!!
and redid all lighting-
added two more headlights for looks and visibility, dropped front turn signals for looks and to get them on the new light bar, changed all turn signal lenses (fronts are smoked, and rears are red), and upgraded rear stop light with new l.e.d. lamp- i dont use the brakes that much cause i love downshifting with the sound of those pipes- so i gotta remember to hit the brakes sometimes so folks behind me know that i am stopping- when i do now the new l.e.d. rear lamp lights up really bright-
upgraded pipes, intake and fuel controller for the injection system. this bike is a very fast harley!
bike came with a great seat and i have changed it out to a mustang. the mustang is firmer and better for the plus 2 rider, but i like changing them out from time to time...
and did i say lotsa chrome?!
