Thanks Jim! I've got to update this as the bottom has been rebuilt and I just finished the decks. The 283 is fantastic...puts out nearly 250 hp and has the most desireable sound. You can't take this out and not get noticed...I have an offer to purchase once or twice a month when I'm on the river with it, but I can't part with it yet. Check out the Riviera I have when you have a chance...that is a serious classic boat!

What a beautiful boat! I don't know much about boats in general, but i do know that Chris Craft is considered one of the classics in wooden-hulled speedboats. trophy image

I bought this boat from a gentleman out in Oklahoma....quite a trip from Upstate NY. It is an absolute blast to take this out on the Hudson River....everyone loves to see it and quite a few can hear it. The original 283 has been reworked to 247 hp from the factory 185 hp, and sounds great with unrestricted dual exhaust. It takes a bit more care than a fiberglass boat, but it's worth it.....the looks are unmatched.
