In Parhump, Nevada, two miles from Death Valley, CA there USED to be one of the finest tracks to learn how to drive fast-really fast. So fast that if you look down at the speedo or tach, you will surely slide clean off the track onto the desert floor.
In one week, I burned up a set (all 4) Z rated tires.
Oversteer and understeer, apex the turns, braking, and accelerating.
What an experience.
A word to the wise-never, ever do on the street what you learned in class, except for braking in a non-ABS car!
Rupert Bragg-Smith was my instructor and in my life, I should be half as good.
Best to all
