After 10 years of shows and events, my 1973 Vega GT has been hibernating in the garage lately as my 1976 Cosworth Vega purchased last Summer had taken its place on the show circuit. But today I brought the GT out for a 250+ car show on Long Island's North Fork, the Cutchogue Lions 43rd Annual Car Show, July 7, 2013. A popular vote show awarding the top-fifty cars, the Vega was announced in the top-ten.
It was a hot weekend on Long Island; luckily, I had found a spot under a shady tree avoiding direct sun. The car looked and ran excellent; this Spring it was treated to a Zymol detail in and out, an Amsol Synthetic "Z-Rod" (added zinc) oil change and a coolant change. After the show, as always, the car was carefully driven home, washed then returned to its climate-controlled garage.

The GT will return to the Long Island Cars Show, Belmont Racetrack, Elmont, NY August 11, 2013, then first time at the Long Island Cars Show, MacArthur Airport, Ronkonkoma, NY Aug. 25, 2013 and the A.A.C.A. NY Peconic region "Hallockville Meet" Riverhead, NY Sept. 29, 2013 where the car participated in the annual event 2006-'11
