This truck was bought by my father, it is still his truck, but it stays at our place in the summer months. Next summer (09) it is likely to take the summer off for some refurbishing.. It was restored in 1976..
I learned how to drive a standard on this truck.. Just me, the truck, a tank of gas, and a horse pasture... Learn or walk...
This truck is what started me on collecting old vehicles..
What can I say about Bessie?
Bessie is a survivor. I rescued her from a guy that let her sit around for years in the rain, cold and harsh sun. When I got her not one screw was the same on a panel. She is a classic that almost ended up in the junkyard. I bought her for a song, put all new parts (and screws) in her and asked her to live again! The result is what you see. She has not only come back to life but she is here to stay and make her mark over 50 years after she was born in Detroit. She was shipped to the farmlands of Arkansas first and ended up somehow in California. Now with her Cobra engine, four wheel disc brakes, C6 transmission she will humbly take all comers. They don't make'm like this anymoooore!
