After the four (masochistic) competitors from the all-night rally who chose to sleep in the field has risen and consumed the first BBQ of the day, and five more competitors had arrived, we got started on the seven test courses of the day. Most were reasonably straight forward, and garages were generously-sized, but the slipperyness of the grass made accelerating uphill a somewhat frustratingly difficult task at times. Alternate drizzle and sunshine kept the grass wet for the whole event, although levels of grip varied dramatically from run to run which kept everyone on their toes! More BBQ food kept us all going but those who were on the previous night's dusk-til-dawn rally were starting to flag near the end!

A superb day was had by all, the only downside being that the only available field had very recently been vacated by a herd of cows who had not cleared up behind themselves. Needless to say our cars all ended rather plastered with sh*t, so next time we will make sure to find a non bovine-occupied venue! There was however something quite satisfying about the distinctive splat of someone else's spinning wheel making contact with a sloppy one.

The traditional 'redline Simon's 205 all over the field' finale was enjoyed by most of the competitors, many of whom also sampled the rear-wheel-drive driftiness of Becky's 200SX finding that keeping it in a controlled slide was somewhat harder than it looked!

See you all at the next one...
