thumbsup image Well me and the fuzz has had plenty of run ins!!! The worst one was when I was driving my 79 Firebird(wish i still had it)! Me and my dad had just got through fussing over something and I was heading to work!! I came up to a redlight that turned green before I had to hit the breaks. So I preceded to make the left hand turn and stuck it to the floor. Well by the time I made it to work(which was only about 2miles from that redlight) 3 cops decided to block me in the parking lot. The cop jumped out and asked me what my f'in problem was!!!! He said that when I pasted him I was doing 75. Which he was only sitting about 80 feet from the redlight!!!!! Luckily he only gave me a ticket for 45 in a 35 but he could've took me to jail!!! I guess me being honest and telling him that I was pissed at my dad and would be working for awhile he eased off of me!!!! Whew!!!!!!

This is a blog from a journal posting in my garage titled "NO LIARS ALLOWED" that I was asked to put in the FAST forum. I decided to write the blog after I discovered someone was claiming to own a particular car that in fact he didn't. When I sent him a private message he refused to answer me but removed the car. Since, he has posted many other cars that he claims to own (or use to own) which I doubt he does. This is something that is probable aggravating to a lot of us that has put many long hours into our rides. Just food for though but I would appreciate the feedback. (Positive or Negative) thumbsup image

    "No Liars Allowed"

It really gets me upset when someone downloads a picture of a cool car off the Internet and then claims that they own it, or previously owned it. Then, they put it up for challenges so they can win a case of oil or whatever.

People put a lot of blood, sweat and tears in their cars, spending hundreds of hours sanding, painting, detailing and polishing these cars all for the reward of self satisfaction. When someone claims to own the car, when they probably never even saw it in person, it’s disrespectful to the owner and all of the hard work that was put into it. It takes a lot of effort to resurrect these rides. It’s not right for someone else to claim ownership. If someone does download a photo of a cool ride to put in his or her garage at least have the courage to indicate who owns the car. Don’t lie and say it’s yours.

Let me know what you think! I’d like to hear other opinions on this. Thanks.

YES IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO BOLT ON THAT OLD PART YOU JUST FINISHED REBUILDING AND RESTOREING FOR THE LAST TWO MONTHS AND STEPPIN BACK AND JUST LOOKIN AT IT FROM ALL THE DIFFERENT ANGLES WHILE YOUR HEAD IS SWELLIN WITH PRIDE. THESE CARS ARE A LIVING WORK OF ART THAT NEED CONTINOUS MAENTIANCE
    AND GENTLE CARE
PEOPLE THAT HAVENT SAVED ONE FROM THE SALVAGE YARD DONT SEEM TO UNDERSTAND.
AND IM NOT SAYING THAT THESE NEW CARS ARE NOT IN ANY WAY INFERIOR TO THE CARE NEEDED FOR SHOW AND GO
BUT YOU CAN TELL WHEN SOME ONE OWNS A OLD OR NEW STREET ROD BY THE WAY THEY ACT AROUND YOURS
PEOPLE THAT PUBLISH CARS THAT THEY DONT OWN WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND THIS UNTILL THEY HAVE GONE THROUGH A TEN YEAR RESTORATION OR SHELLIN OUT MORE THAN YOU CAN AFFORD FOR THAT NEWEST TOY FOR NEW STREET ROD.AND HAVIN TO WORK OVERTIME FOR TWO WEEKS JUST TO PAY FOR IT

IF YOU FIND SOME ONE THAT YOU ARE SURE OF THIS PLEASE REPORT IT TO MOTORTOPIA. OR HERE

how about a guy that only challenges cars that he can easily beat and makes fake accounts to give him free wins:

    http://www.mo.../cars/1996z28

he blocked me after i challenged him for challenging a friend's stock pickup and I pointed out the fake account...

That's one of the reasons I don't care for the challenge thing. I guess you could decline the challange if you want but challenges should be between cars that are similar.

I USED TO HAVE MY WIFES SUBURBAN LISTED IN MY GARAGE BUT A LOT OF CARS THAT WERE WAY TO COOL KEPT CHALLENGING IT BUT I WOULD COUNTER CHALLENGE WITH MY GTO AND SS IF THEY DIDN'T ACCEPT THOSE THEN I WOULDN'T ACCEPT THEIRS. THIS WORKED WELL TILL MY WIFE GOT HER OWN SITE NOW I HAVEN'T HAD A CHALLENGE SINCE I ALSO MOVED MY SON'S SS TO HIS SITE THAT HE WANTED TO SET UP HE AND I NEVER GET CHALLENGED BUT MY WIFE GETS CHALLENGES EVERY DAY AND WONT ACCEPT
IT SEEMS SOME PEOPLE ONLY WANT TO CHALLENGE WHAT THEY CAN BEAT
AND OF COURSE NO ONE WANTS TO LOOSE
I THINK THEIR NEEDS TO BE SOME KIND OF RATING SYSTEM FOR CHALLENGES.

At Motortopia, we are thinking about reducing the focus on challenges and move to virtual or online car shows.

We don't have the details worked out yet, but we are moving in this direction.

Anyone interested in helping us think through what shoudl be included in an online car show, just post here and let us know.

    Thank you.

ONE IDEA WOULD BE TO LET EVERY ONE POST JUST ONE PICTURE OF THEIR CAR AND IF YOU CLICK ON IT IT WOULD TAKE YOU TO THEIR GARAGE AND THIS WOULD ALSO COUNT AS ONE VOTE WHEN THEY CLICKED THE PICTURE? THE CAR WITH THE MOST CLICKS WOULD BE WINER OF THE WEEK MONTH OR DAY AND YEAR ?
YOU WOULD HAVE TO KEEP THE CARS ROTATING AS TO NOT LET THE SAME CARS BE AT THE START
AND YOU COULD SET UP CLASSES JUST LIKE SHOWS
    THANKS FOR THE RESPONSE
