Hello everyone! I joined the site because I found some information about transforming a '78 Revell T/A to a '77 Esprit that CorvairJim did. I'm embarking on the same project, but haven't done a model in like 35 years. HA!
I'm hoping Jim will get my message I sent him so I can get started, because his project clearly show the correct way to do it. I have read it several times. If anyone has contact with him, please let him know I'd like to consult with him.
About me, closet car chick my whole life til it bloomed in 2003 when I started dating my boyfriend/now husband, who is from Michigan. He's had 2 or 3 DOZEN Mustangs in his day. Bought 'em from friends, made 'em faster, beat same friend with that car racing, and then sold it to someone else.
When we started dating, my husband was drag racing motorcycles at the time. I wanted to do it too. I was riding at the time. So we found me a bike to race. I lost, and a lot! But I do have one Wally on the mantel, and I had to beat my husband to get it that day. It was Father's Day in 2006, and it was my first NHRA Divisional Open event that I had competed in. I dedicated the win to my Daddy, who I lost in 2001.
We love to go to SEMA and Barrett-Jackson. We race off-road in the Best In The Desert Racing Association, piloting and co-driving the #1998 Murray Motorsports/Aldrich Racing Can-Am Commander, with the support of Can-Am, Lucas Oil, HCR Racing, King Shocks, and Summers Bros., just to name a few. Took second in our season opener this year.
Well, that's about it I guess. Please go to https://www.facebook.com/StraightOutTheTrailer and check out our team and keep up on all our current events (maybe even "Like" us, too!
). Our next race is The Mint 400 presented by General Tire on March 23, 2013. Thanks for taking the time to read my intro post!
