Greg, sometimes I feel the same way... 60s and 70s were awesome! I bought my first NEW car... the blue '78 TA in Nov of 1977. I remember all the young people and the cars that made an impact on my memories... Firebirds, Formulas, Trans Ams, Chevelles, Cudas, Chargers, Mustangs, vettes, GS, GTX, 442s, GTOs, GPrixs, Camaros, and the like...
I will never forget the 200th Anniversary of our nation on July 4, 1976. My dad owned a 1939 one and a half ton truck with stake bodies. I painted it White with Blue Rims and Red stripes and entered it in the parade. Wow! That was fun!
We had several folks on the back sitting in straw bales of hay with 2 hounds!
Talking about a fun time!
We used to own several large tractors with loud fender radios and have them blastin' rock and roll all summer long listening to the "BIG APE" - W.A.P.E. in Jacksonville FL or Z93 or 96Rock from ATL. It is funny how much of the new country music is like the popular rock music was then.
