"Put the evidence in the car"
We all know about the 76 honeycombs wheels but have any ever heard about seeing a 76 interior door pull strap? Looks like more evidence that a 76 was on the set. This is a still shot from where Bandit picks Frog up in the road.

And here is the shot at the Texas State Line

Watching it in slow motion I believe in the scene where the Trans Am runs off the road to pass Snowman and hits the mailboxes that quite possibly the front rim is honeycomb and the rear is snowflake.

Any day above ground is a GOOD day!!!

I noticed the same thing while watching it last week and again last night. It definitely was a '76 or at least had many '76 features. scratchchin image

theres also a closeup scene on the interstate where it shows a pass side view u can see the rim lip and center is bigger than it should be for a snowflake which points to honeycombs to me

excuse me sir your a$$ is on fire i bet youll be glad to get back to canada and stick it in the snow! smokey and the bandit 2(1980 TTA son of trigger Y84SE)

the scene im talking about is after the bandit first picks up frog and looses the first cop and gets back on to the interstate 29:44 is the time on the dvd.......the more i think about it my first 77 was a 1 owner and it had the 76 door pulls
also the scene after where the bandit passes snowman right when he goes down to the ditch u can see the honeycomb on pass front and snowflake on pass rear and u can also spot a roll cage in the car lol

the obvious shot is the 76 sitting on the side of the road as Snowman passes the Texarcanna sign.... honeycombs are real obvious in that scene

Yep. I noticed the same scene while watching the other night.

By the way, PonchoFreek has some interesting news cheerful image regarding the cars used on the movie set as he is now working on set with the guy who prepared the TAs for the movie... I'll let him spill the beans about the FBs... ziplip image

I recently got to work on movie set with guy here in Atlanta who REPAINTED the beauty cars (non stunt cars) black (all 3 beauty cars were prototype 77 TAs.. ps none were black SE cars ). Certainly this would explain some residual 76 parts on these cars! GM furnished SE decals and stripe kits. This individual is now in the movie industry after owning the bodyshop that painted the Birds for SATB and the General for the Dukes of Hazzard also filmed partially here in Ga!

This is a topic I love to discuss and hope too during the run, so get ready. I wonder if the one of the beauty cars was the close up car, as the interior shoots have the gold shifter, door bezels, dash, etc.. Seems like a lot of detail to get the 77 S/E look and then to forget the rims and door panels would be a major error.

Definitely looks like the passenger door was painted at the gas station close up.

Yep... twill make for good conversation on the run for sure! PonchoFreek plans to join us in Bowling Green. By the way, BG plant is down but not to worry the museum is open! If you've ever seen a manufacturing plant, then you've seen 'em all! No worries! You'll see plenty of Gov't Motors product while there. lmao image
