theres a interiew john s(bo duke) did a few years back that he states he would do back flips for one of the 76s used in part 1...i kinda find it hard to believe pontiac had 3 prototypes that werent blk when u could find pics of the new 77 in blk and gold before they started filming in ads everywhere and prototypes and concept cars didnt have vin numbers and one guy on here that did that youtube interview states gm watched and confirmed all vin numbers on the cars were crunched...so even if bo duke remembers a 76 on the set and the cars had vin numbers when crunched i find it hard to believe pontiac didnt have black ones ready to go even after the interview hal did with muscle car mag in 90s stateing there was 403 and 400 cars on the set

If you recall the movie start up was prior/and/or during typical retool dates for model year changes. Ads were run much closer to production dates.
My compatriot refuses to give interviews, but go back and watch the credits and give the transpo guy the questions that have been brought up. The gentleman in question refuses to interview ( due to zealots with a cause) but was happy to discuss this with me while on set with him.
When I was introduced to this individual nearly a year ago it was stated we had so much in common because of my love for Trans Ams and his work on the SATB beauty cars.
JUST SAYIN... doubt if you like.

I think what Poncho told me on the run is very believable and if you look at it from a movie budget standpoint and Pontiac giving the 3 cars, they weren't perfect off the production line. As said, the studio had other cars but were likely bought used for cheap and altered to fit the movie. (this makes for the discrepancy of 3 cars, 5 cars, 8 cars, etc...)Even the cars today are not real Ferrari's and Lambo's but fiberglass replicas kit cars. All the chargers used for the Dukes of Hazzard didn't come from Dodge and new off the lot but created from used cars. It makes the most sense out of all the controversy and rumors. I think in all the interviews there are bits of truth, just never the entire story. This puts it into perspective. And just so the story doesn't end here, I have one of the movie cars used. Sally's shoe prints are still on the inside windshield and that's all the proof I need. hyper image
