I just saw on the TV listing for "American Trucker" at 9:30 tonight (central time) that they will be having something on about "retracing the 1330 mile trip" depicted in the movie. Even though it wasnt mentioned in the description nor have I noticed anyone here talking about it, I'm guessing that The Bandit Run is the topic of the episode. Yall might wanna watch it....so consider this a heads up! biggrin image

Alrighty, it appears as if I may have jumped the gun and assumed a wee bit much. The episode wasnt actually about the Bandit Run....it was actually about if the trip from Atlanta to Texarkana and back could be done in 28hrs....they did it in 26 1/2hrs. It was really cool though to see the T/A and the Snowmans truck on the road together. The only question I have about the episode is, did they do the trip at todays 70 mph or at 1977's 55 mph? (only a goob like me would think to ask something like that) lol

I don't think they were to worried about the 55 mph speed limit back then, as Frog and the Bandit were really going 110 mph. (not what the speedo showed)
And Snowman was stop by Evil Knievel doing 96 mph.

That was filmed last year and featured the Snowman Rig from The Bandit Run and our very own Wayne Alderson, AKA "Snowman" and the Year One BRE Trans Am. It was a very cool episode. We get our share of attention for sure.

Any day above ground is a GOOD day!!!

Yeah thats true....I forgot about Snowman getting pulled over...lol. And if I remember right, I wanna say that while Frog says something about going 110, when they showed the speedo it was on 70 mph and also showed 110 kph underneath it. I suppose if I had been making the trip to win a new Peterbilt that I probably would have exceeded the speed limit too....lol
