Not to throw a Monkey wrench into this ...but here it goes.........TOSS.....

If its a bit much to pull this off....with everything thats goin on in town......whats to stop us from getting 25 pizzas delivered to the Hotel parkinglot...weather permitting.

p.s i may hv missed the reason we are all going down town for dinner.........

We have certainly gone the pizza route lots of time and that is an option. However, I have also seen us try to walk into restaurants - overwhelm the place move all the tables and wait forever for service, lol-So I like to plan ahead, if I can, and give us a nice option where we can eat. I thought we're in TX let's eat Tex-Mex.

Originally, we were all going to be parked downtown at the car show, and I heard about these two awesome restaurants down there, and I thought I'd see who wanted to go and I'd make some reservations. (Those of us who were in Bowling Green during the POCI convention last July would understand because we wandered all over town trying to get into a restaurant.)

After I posted, I found out that we can't stay parked downtown unless we are attending the concert that evening. If you are going to the concert, you will pay a fee to be in that area. So since I already had this post rolling, I thought I'd find another locale.

This dinner is not a big scheduled Bandit Run event. I just know that in the past what starts out being a couple of us going to eat, turns into 50, lol. Birds of a feather flock together and all that. It makes it a whole lot easier, if I phone ahead and tell them to bring in some extra staff and throw a few more taters in the pot. Plus we usually have a great time. (Ask Wayne (Snowman) about the steakhouse in Bowling Green, lol.)

Basically, everyone is free to eat where they please. Some folks may decide to pay the concert fee and stay downtown, some people will pick up fast-food, and some folks will want to head out to a sit-down restaurant. So for those folks, I'll make us some reservations. yummy image

Bottom line is it's your vacation and you should do whatever makes you happy. yes image

They are supposed to announce it next week. I think tickets are supposed to be $15 each. Not certain, but I believe it will be a country/western band. As soon as I hear details, I'll pass them on. Like I said folks may want to stay downtown and hear the band.

Most Texarkana restaurants I spoke to say they are too busy on Saturday nights to accomodate a huge group with seperate checks. However, the Hooters near our hotel said they would love to have us stop by. They said they have a large parking lot and a back room that can hold 30 people. So if some folks would like to party at Hooters ,they will welcome us. Other than that, I am just going to post a list of restaurants. (I did get some recommendations from locals) and we will just break into small manageable groups and head out.

Yep... at Hooters in Daytona... I was the designated "Parking Lot Attendant" in charge of watching the cars... smile image Heck, that was the best night of the whole run... I stood in the parking lot and a Hooters Brunette with a large serving tray kept bringing red solo cups. biggrin image

Not sure if this Hooters is as nice as the one in Daytona, no outside deck, etc. But I'm sure these Hooters girls will have those nice large serving trays you liked so much. wink image

... it's not the large serving tray ... it was the red solo cups with some kind of concoction that wasn't iced tea that I liked. biggrin image
