These are nice cars, if you’re into easy-cruisin’ luxury. It’s amazing to see one in such great original condition. I once owned the 1976 equivalent of this car, and it was a memorable experience. Not too many 18 year olds had 5 year old “Grandpa-mobiles”! Mine was a former unmarked Police car that became one after it was confiscated in a drug bust. It’s original owner had modified it for performance to potentially outrun the cops if the need arose (warmed-over 455, Turbo 400 with a shift kit, firmer springs and gas shocks), but unfortunately for him he was asleep in the car when they found him… with a kilo of cocaine in the trunk! They pressed it into service as an unmarked, figuring that nobody would hit on a maroon-over-white LeSabre 4-door hardtop as a police car. They sold it to me when it became too well known around the medium-sized college town it was being used in. My dad was the township manager there at the time so I got a sweet deal on it – $600!
