1952 Ford F1 Pickup Standand (Rusty)

Last updated Aug 31, 2011

Photo of a 1952 Ford F1 Pickup Standand (Rusty)

No longer owned

I purchased this 1952 Ford F1 Pickup so that I would have something to bring to the local car show when my Mustang was in the shop being redone. The truck was mechanically sound and looked pretty good with the exception of some rust spots on the front fenders and grill (actually with the brown color of the truck, the rust almost blended in).

The truck was fun to drive because of the 327 Covette engine and 4 speed manual transmission and a Hurst Shifter. All of the modifications were done before I purchased it with the exception of tail lights. Other than cleaning and a little wiring to get it to pass inspection the truck was left untouched until the day that the car carrier came to pick it up to deliver it to the person I sold it to in California.

As he was driving the truck up the ramp to the top tier of his carrier, the brake line let go and he ending up having an exciting ride back down the ramp and into the parking lot. Luckily, there were no other vehicle in the lot at the time and he managed to stop it before he hit the armory building. Needless to say, he did not take the truck that day and came back about a week later to pick it up.
