It did start and sounds pretty good for an engine that sat out in the elements for so many years. clearance on the door is 1/4" to the rubber and almost an inch to the wood.

You're primarily a Mopar guy, right? Is the radiator that way because you're thinking of using a slant-6, and want the radiator to be at an angle, too? lmao image

That's the suburban radiator. the 53 Chevy radiator will be used in the final construction. good observation!
