I found this car sitting in a farmers field in Fairfield Idaho. The car was complete, all stock, and it ran. I was in the middle of building a high performance 292 motor for my 1956 F-100 pick-up, but when I found this car I sold the pick up to build her.
292 Bored and stroked to 317 cu.in.
After getting the car homeI started on the tear down and rebuild which took 3 years. I pulled the stock 292 motor and traded it for a 9" Ford rear end. The motor I built is a C2AE heavy duty truck block. Bored 0.060" over with a machined 312 crank and 292 rods. Displacement came out to 317 cu.in. A Comp cam with a .489 lift was used and the heads were ported and polished ECZ-G heads with 1.5:1 roller rockers. Intake is an original Edelbrock #257 dual quad with Trans-Dapt Adapter Plates and Edelbrock #1404 500 CFM carbs. Red's Headers and Magnaflow, SS exhaust. The transmission is a Mustang T-5 five speed. The front suspension uses 2.5" dropped Granada spindles with power disk brakes. Power rack and pinion steering connected to a GM "A" body tilt column. Shortened LTD driveshaft connected to a narrowed Ford 9" rear with 370 posi gears. The car also has Vintage Air AC with a custom stereo and 6 disk CD changer in the trunk. The interior has Wise Guys buckets seats finished in black leather and burgandy velour.
