I am the proud owner of this beautiful 1958 Mercury Montclair. After months of searching for the "perfect car", i came across this one online and instantly fell in love. she's an all original Canadian car from Sudbury, ont. The man who first owned the car drove it very little, as he became ill, and retired the car in storage for 40 years. After his passing, the car was sold to the gentleman who I bought it from. so I am the third owner of this car. almost everything worked on her, and I couldn't turn it down for the price.
After some playing around with the car, I dug up some history on it. When i took the hub caps to re-do them, there was the original owners name painted on. His name was Kappo Sallo of copper cliff, sudbury ontario. This was painted on all four hubcaps. there are also various "esso" tags from a service station in sudbury. on these are lubrication charts, wheel changes etc.
under the hood, lies a 383 V8, 330 horsepower marauder engine. Brand new holley 4 barrel carb, dual exhaust, and rebuilt mercomatic transmission. New to the car is all four wheel disc brakes with baby moon rims and BF radials.
Power steering, power brakes, dual exhaust, multi-drive transmission keyboard, tinted glass, "visual aid group", "courtesy light group", locking gas tank cap, contour floor mats, padded sun visors, full disc hubcaps, fender mounted mirror, padded dash, factory re-done AM radio, front and rear speakers, electric wipers and more.
Four wheel disc brakes, chrome baby moon rims, 15" BF Radials, 100 amp alternator, cruiser skirts, spotlight/mirror combo.
