Bill Mitchell sure knew how to design a car! These early Rivieras have a timeless elegance to their design. trophy image

1965 Buick Riviera GS (Riviera 65 GS)

Photo of a 1965 Buick Riviera GS (Riviera 65 GS)

I was looking on Ebay for a wheel for my Riv 72, as one was not in good condition. I've found it and took it. Then I've asked the seller (John), if he has maybe more ? Answer was that no, he had only this one, as he bought it years ago for his Riv 65, but the wheel was not fitting.
Wow, Riv 65 was my next-to-have dream car. John said, that he is considering to sell her. Car was complete, original, running, but body was requiring hard work. But in the moment that he told me that this is Gran Sport model, decision was made. Few discussions with my wonderful wife and the dream come true (thanks Ewa !). And what kind of true - I was never even thinking that I will get GS.....
All the story (from wheel purchase) started in April, and we finalize the deal for the car in December. No hurry, a lot of contacts, we are friends today.

GS model, 425ci two carbs.

Factory Options

Gran Sport package, engine no. & code matching

will be restored soon in next 1 year time (I hope ;-) ).
No modification - will try to keep as original as possible. The only mod will be conversion to dual reservoir brake pump (original is one reservoir), due to safety reason.
