The AMX was a 1969 that became known to me on a rumour. I was told about an AMX that was well known in the Orillia area sitting in a driveway possibly for sale. This was in the late 80s and these cars were still not in demand. I took a run out to see it and was surprised, it had been run backwards into a telephone pole. There was almost a perfect concave hit in the middle of the rear. I cut a trunk and rear panel out of a wrecked Javelin, put in a gas tank, bumper and trunk lid then began the long process of adjusting everything. What was really amazing was the car showed no visable damage on the quarters I guess because the hit broke all the spot welds on the rear panel and the car just folded in. A 4 speed transmission, 390 engine, deluxe trim and originally in red. Now Nassau blue I primered it, got it on the road and sold it. It went to a local buyer.
I have not seen it since but then I likely would not recognize it anyway.
