My 72 nova was hit on the driver side rear quarter & grandma
gave me $600. to help get it fixed. A guy had a camaro 1969
in my neghborhood he rarely drove. When I first saw it the car
had alluminum slots 15x7 front 15x10 rear W/ BFG's all four
corners, glitter silver paint but the front end was primer black
W/ RS front & RS tail lights and all the corect Z/28 emblems.
Keep in mind this was the late 70's & in a twelve year olds
eye's this was the badest thing EVER!! In the 80's the owner Allen Strayer took off the slots & BFG's and put on 15x7 & 15x8
ralley's and lowered the front, once & awhile he would put it in
the front yard W/ a 4 sale sign on the dash board. If you didn't
know the car was there, and most DIDN't , you missed it!!!
Long story short a good friend's father once offered to help
me get another car after I ran into a car that abruptly stoped,
because some bonehead blocked a traffic lane on a two lane road with a moveing truck on my way to school 1983. I replaced
the frontend on the nova with Mr. C.O.S. sr help. He gave me
the fenders he took off his 70 nova SS that were layin around.
The camaro came up 4 sale one more time AND I WAS ON IT!
He wanted $2000. I took the $600 from grandma, baroughed
$1600. from Mr. C.O.S. sr. & wallked to his house W/ $ & tag
from my nova in hand. He was pulling off his street in his caprice wagon and he didn't see me, made a right & kept going.
I knew he was going to his girlfriend's house about a 1/4 mile,
I ran all the way behind that white station wagon. When I got there he was getting out of the car, I ran up out of breath
mutterring I got the money. He gave me a ride back to his house
signed the tittle, I gave him the $, he gave me the key's and I
DROVE MY CAMARO HOME !!!
